I am definitely that person who loves the idea of doing something out of pocket. Something that gets the creative juices flowing. I had been thinking about a Wimbledon themed idea for ages. Living in the area for the past couple of years, means this was pretty much a no-brainer. Not only that but I have recently taken up tennis lessons and I am loving it. It’s a new hobby I definitely want to keep maintaining. That and golf, but that’s a chat for another time.
When you work full time and shoot content on the side, time management can be a tricky thing. So that’s why I was on the tube on a Sunday morning at 7am, heading to some tennis courts!
Yep, you read that right and it had been a very busy week as well, so I wasn’t the most thrilled about being up that early and travelling. The morning air was crisp so I was jolted awake, but I had lucked out with the sunshine. Considering that this summer has been awful, I was cautious on how much time I would actually have to shoot what I needed. The photographer gods were on my side though and I captured everything I needed!
Working with Joules is such an amazing pleasure. Each season they just keep elevating. The Set Match linen shirt is playful, light and the details on the embroidery are so cute. The shirt is inspired by Wimbledon and has a jumper counterpart too!
It is 100% linen, which means it is truly a staple in your wardrobe for years to come. When summer does hit and in London we have those odd hot days, I can’t imagine wearing anything better than linen. This shirt can fit dressed up with smart linen trousers or causally playful in shorts or a tennis skirt.
The shoot was inspired by vintage photography of tennis players and I think this kind of style has encouraged many of us girlies to embrace the summer tennis core look this year. How cute are wooden rackets by the way? They just look better. I must say, this shoot has motivated me all the more to improve on my tennis. It’s very empowering.
I have got to work on that swing though…
Thank you Joules and Bloxham PR for the opportunity be creative in my shooting.
