Let’s be honest, as far as British summers go, this year has been a dog’s dinner (a mess - to my non-Brit readers).
For the past few weeks, we have been living in two worlds within our wardrobe. The pretty sundress with a wool coat. Short sleeved tops with quilted jackets. Open-toe sandals with umbrellas. Then, of course, there is the trench coat. The perfect light rainwear piece that isn’t too heavy on you and will keep you dry from sudden showers.
For years, I didn’t invest in good light jackets - I had my winter warmers and my denim, but these wouldn’t pair well with my outfit. I hated that I would get all dressed up and then have to pull on a ugly, thick coat that didn't compliment what I was wearing whatsoever. But honey, the dog days are over…

I have taken the Kennington for a spin a couple of times already, on coffee dates and we have been getting some serious compliments from strangers. Nothing hits as good as random people asking you where you got that coat from. You’re floating for the rest of the day. I am obsessed with the hotchpotch design as well. I didn’t think I would be either. I am a simple gal who likes simple patterns/colours. But I love how many clothes this coat can now compliment. I can style up so many neutral and earthy tones with the Kennington.
This coat hasn’t compromised on practicality either. This is no style over substance piece. ‘Deep front pockets, a two-way zip and popper fastening, eyelets for breathability and sits below the knee for extended coverage.’ I also love the hidden Joules embroidery under the corduroy collar. It’s those extra fine details that takes a piece from basic to extraordinary.
Overall, Joules have really elevated the classic country attire with a modern twist. You feel quality in every piece and my wardrobe staples are growing ever fruitful. I am feeling more confident in how I style myself for those rainy days. The trench coat is a classic and the Kennington is the glue that brings my whole outfit together.
